Societe Generale has issued its first digital bond in the US, using Broadridge’s issuance, trading and management tokenisation services.
The bonds were registered by SocGen’s digital asset subsidiary, Societe Generale-FORGE, and purchased by DRW. IntellectEU’s Catalyst Blockchain Manager was used to operate nodes on the Canton Network blockchain.
Horacio Barakat, head of digital innovation at Broadridge, commented, “The expansion of tokenisation beyond treasuries into corporate and structured bonds is an exciting step – one that will help increase the liquidity and utility of these assets across financing and collateral use cases.”
