Michael Piper has been promoted to head of fixed income at Piper Sandler, effective Q1 2026.
Based in Texas, he reports to the investment bank’s president Deb Schoneman.
Former fixed income leader John Beckelman will become vice chairman of fixed income capital markets, with a focus on client engagement.
Piper has been a managing director for fixed income at Piper Sandler since 2020, after close to nine years with Sandler O’Neill. Piper Sandler acquired Sandler O’Neill in 2020.
Schoneman commented, “[Piper] has successfully diversified our fixed income platform and led the effort to recruit outstanding professionals to join our team.”
Earlier in his career, Piper was an associate director for fixed income at Braver Stern Securities and an analyst for asset management and fixed income at Guggenheim Partners.
