Amit Deshpande has joined Vanguard as global head of quantitative research for fixed income.
He is based in Philadelphia, and reports to global head of rates Roger Hallam.
In the role, Deshpande will work on alpha generation and portfolio construction using AI, machine learning and quantitative modeling.
Vanguard holds US$12 trillion in global assets under management as of November 2025.
Deshpande has 30 years of industry experience and has been head of quantitative fixed income at T Rowe Price since 2024.
Earlier in his career, Deshpande was global head of investment risk at Charles Schwab and spent over a decade at AllianceBernstein in roles including head of fixed income investment risk management and head of quantitative portfolio management in New York and Japan.
