Hsu jumps from BlackRock to Balyasny

Vicky Hsu has joined Balyasny Asset Management as head of counterparty credit, leaving BlackRock after more than 17 years.

Balyasny holds US$31 billion in assets under management (AUM). By contrast, BlackRock reports US$14 trillion in AUM.

In November, Wajih Ahmed joined the firm as a macro portfolio trader after a decade with Goldman Sachs.

Hsu’s career began at BlackRock in 2008, where she covered counterparty credit risk in New York and Hong Kong. She became head of EMEA counterparty credit risk in 2019, then head of international counterparty credit risk and global deputy head of securities lending risk in 2024.
