The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) recorded record open interest in Euribor options on 1 June.
The exchange reported that open interest in ICE Euribor futures and options reached 27,296,787 contracts. Within this, 21,885,099 were options contracts – beating a more than 15-year record set on 15 March 2010.
Last month, ICE named Penny Cheung as head of interest rate derivatives.

More broadly, total interest rates futures and options open interest at ICE was at a record 51,097,820 contracts on 1 June.
By contrast, options on Eurex’s three-month Euribor futures recorded open interest of 25,390 on the same day. Three-month futures had open interest of 485,633.
