Sense Street has partnered with S&P Global Market Intelligence to improve automation in the primary bond markets.
Sense Street takes unstructured chat communications between sales traders and counterparties and turns them into structured data. Use cases of this data include flow analytics and workflow automation.
The latter extracts details needed to fulfil a client’s request-for-quote without manual intervention. Through this partnership, these details are inputted directly into S&P’s issuance process application IssueBook.
The service will reduce manual processing and improve operational efficiency, Sense Street commented.
Global fixed income debt outstanding reached US$160.7 trillion in 2025, according to SIFMA figures. According to the OECD, sovereign and corporate bond issuance is projected to reach US$29 trillion this year.
Olivier Dermaux, EMEA head of fixed income primary at S&P Global, told The DESK, “The continued growth in fixed income issuance highlights the importance of efficient order entry and bookbuilding workflows.
“By leveraging AI, we can help make the process more scalable, transparent and efficient. Bringing together Sense Street’s capabilities with the workflows and functionality available in IssueBook helps streamline the capture of dealer communications, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency for our users.”
Speaking to The DESK, Haroon Hassan, Sense Street CEO, added, “On a busy new issue day, salespeople spend considerable time on manual tasks. Re-keying orders from chat into the book and updating them throughout the day is a pain well known to anyone who’s worked on a desk. We’re automating that workflow, so structured orders flow straight into IssueBook and the salesperson simply validates them. That frees up valuable time for salespeople to focus on client conversations through the busiest part of a deal, instead of the data entry behind it.”
