Vounakis leaves Mizuho

Mizuho’s head of credit trading, Aristo Vounakis, has left the firm.

For the nine months ended 31 December 2025, Mizuho reported US$4.1 billion in trading revenues – down 20% year-on-year.

Last September, the bank’s US$525 million in debt capital markets revenues saw it enter the global top ten.

Vikram Dadlani was named EMEA head of credit trading in September 2025.

Vounakis has more than 20 years of industry experience and has been with Mizuho since 2019, joining the firm as head of corporate credit trading. Prior to this, he was a credit trader at RBS specialising in Euro IG and a flow trader at Lloyds Banking Group.
