Euroclear is planning an issuer services expansion, entering into negotiations to acquire French corporate trust services provider Uptevia.

The acquisition will allow Euroclear to offer a wider range of issuer services, it said, and reinforce its presence in the French market.

Uptevia is currently owned by BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole subsidiary CACEIS.

Valérie Urbain, Euroclear CEO, commented, “The proposed acquisition supports our ambition to develop a broader pan-European issuer services proposition, aligned with the Savings and Investments Union objectives.”

Uptevia commented, “This proposed transaction reflects recognition of the expertise and quality of service that have defined Uptevia since its creation, and would open a new avenue for growth alongside a leading post-trade infrastructure provider.”
