Stu Taylor has been promoted to head of global markets AI strategy (ex-Japan) at MUFG.

He is based in London.

Commenting on the role via LinkedIn, Taylor said, “The mandate is refreshingly simple. Apply AI to the three commercial outcomes the bank cares about most: global revenues, global costs, and the strength of our global control environment. Always at scale — solutions span every region, every trading line, and every support function underpinning MUFG Global Markets.”

MUFG has also promoted its electronic trading AI lead Aaron Alderman to AI lead engineer for global markets ex-Japan.

The firm reported US$37.3 billion in gross profits for year-end 31 March 2026.

Taylor has more than 20 years of industry experience and has been head of e-trading at MUFG since 2020. Earlier in his career, he was CEO of fixed income technology platform Algomi, which he co-founded in 2012, and global head of matched principal trading for fixed income at UBS.
