Anthony Yap and Maria Chua have joined Citi’s APAC debt capital market (DCM) team.
Yap will serve as head of leveraged finance for Australia and New Zealand, while Chua has been named a director and will cover leveraged and syndicated loans in Southeast Asia.
Both report to co-heads of APAC DCM Adrian Khoo and Deepak Dangayach. Yap will also report to co-heads of capital markets and advisory for Australia and New Zealand Ben Connolly and Philippe Perzi.
Citi’s fixed income markets generated a reported US$5.2 billion in Q1 2026, up 13% year-on-year and 45% quarter-on-quarter.
Yap has 30 years of industry experience and is based in Sydney. He was most recently head of private capital group coverage and financing for Australia and New Zealand at HSBC, covering leveraged and acquisition finance.
Prior to this, he was a senior vice-president covering project, structured and leveraged finance for Asia and Australia at Siemens.
Based in Hong Kong, Chua has more than 20 years of experience and has been head of leveraged finance origination for Asia at UBS since 2018.
