Michael Harper has joined Ares Management as head of portfolio management for systematic credit. He is based in London.
Ares holds a reported US$623 billion in assets under management. Last year, the firm strengthened its alternative credit strategy with a third co-head.

Harper has more than 25 years of industry experience, joining Ares from BlueCover Limited where he has been head of portfolio management since 2018.
The majority of his career has been spent at BlackRock, where he was most recently a managing director and head of EMEA fixed income core portfolio management.
