Lisa McGeogh has left HSBC after eight months after being named US chief executive at the firm, joining Deutsche Bank as head of the Americas and CEO of the Deutsche Bank USA.
Beginning the role in early 2026, McGeogh will replace Paul Maley, who has held the position on an interim basis since the departure of Stefan Simon in May.
McGeogh reports to Fabrizio Campelli, the member of the management board responsible for the Corporate Bank and Investment Bank, Americas, UK and Ireland.
Fixed income revenues were a reported €2.3 billion in Q2 2025, up 11% year on year.
With more than three decades of industry experience, McGeogh has spent the last four years with HSBC. Before being named US president and CEO and head of banking, she was co-head of global banking coverage and head of global banking for Europe at the company.
Prior to this, she held senior roles including head of international, co-head of commercial and investment banking and head of the financial institutions and industrial groups at Wells Fargo.
