Mitsubishi UFJ (MUFG) Asset Management has introduced Bloomberg’s BQuant Enterprise to its workflow in a bid to update its operational infrastructure.

Cloud-based analytics platform BQuant Enterprise allows clients to innovate faster, cut down on internal infrastructure costs and automate aspects of investment workflows.

Akira Takanabe, MUFG Asset Management chief investment officer, explained, “As we strive to realise Japan as a nation of asset management, enhancing our operational capabilities is an urgent task. BQuant Enterprise allows us to drive innovation faster and more efficiently than building these systems ourselves.”

The turnkey solution enables intracompany collaboration, using a firm’s proprietary data alongside Bloomberg’s, and is managed by Bloomberg.

The service has scalable compute power, which the company says will allow for advanced analytics, machine learning models and simulations to be run, reducing bottlenecks and accelerating insight generation.

MUFG is also implementing BQuant Enterprise Textual Analytics, which allows teams to use the provider’s pre-trained and configurable natural language processing (NLP) models to generate further insights for alpha generation workflows.
