Barclays investment bank has hired Samy Ben Aoun as head of rates trading for continental Europe, returning him to the firm’s trading floors nearly two decades after he began his career there as a quantitative analyst.
Ben Aoun spent the past 19 years at Crédit Agricole CIB, rising to global head of non-linear rates trading after leading the bank’s structured-rates and cross-asset desks.
He holds the “El Karoui” master’s in probability and finance from Pierre-and-Marie-Curie University (Paris VI) and graduated from Mines Paris-PSL in 2005.
Announcing the move, Ben Aoun said: “I am happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Rates Trading Continental Europe at Barclays Investment Bank.”
