BNP Paribas Asset Management names new head of global trading

Sophie Lugiez, BNP Paribas Asset Management

BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Sophie Lugiez as head of the Global Trading Function (GTF). Based in Paris, Lugiez reports to Rob Gambi, chief investment officer. She additionally joins BNPP AM’s Investment Leadership team and Business Committee.

Lugiez took up her new role on 12 May and will be responsible for all aspects of BNPP AM’s GTF, including trading, foreign exchange hedging, cash management and managing sell-side relationships.

She joined the BNP Paribas Group in 1995 and has held a number of roles within legal, BNP Paribas Wealth Management and BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S), in France and Italy.

She joined BNP Paribas Dealing Services in 2014 as COO and deputy CEO, and has been actively involved in the creation of GTF, leading strategic projects including recently Brexit market readiness and trading automation. Lugiez also has extensive experience of risk control and management of regulated entities.

She graduated from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) and is qualified as a lawyer.
