Gary Harper has been appointed managing director and head of emerging markets credit trading at Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking, based in London.
He joins from Absa Group, where he was head of eurobond trading from 2021 to 2026, covering sub-Saharan Africa, Egypt and South Africa across sovereign and corporate markets. Prior to that, Harper held senior emerging markets credit trading roles at Liquidnet, Mizuho and Barclays Investment Bank, with a focus on CDS and high-yield cash bonds flow trading.
Earlier in his career, he traded emerging markets credit at BNP Paribas and ING, having started out at CIBC Capital Markets.
