Granit Funds has recruited Ulf Erlandsson as its head of fixed income starting in August. He comes from the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) where he had the role of senior portfolio manager in the global macro asset management group. Prior to that, he worked as a quantitative credit strategist at Barclays Capital in London. Erlandsson has 21 years of experience in the academic and fund management world.

He holds a PHD in economics from Lunds University and has written several books and articles within his area of expertise. In a recent article ‘Credit Alpha and CO2 Reduction’ he drew international attention for his approach to linking alpha strategies and reducing the carbon footprint in corporate bond portfolios. Granit Funds expects to launch a new hedge fund in 2017 with a focus on climate change and green bonds, which Erlandsson will manage.

“Ulf has an outstanding track record in the fixed income markets and we are looking forward to utilising his skill set here at Granit. His theoretical knowledge combined with his stellar real world performance especially within the environmental, social and governance (ESG) segment is groundbreaking. I have personally worked with Ulf for many years and am happy to finally welcome him to Granit Funds,” says Sean George, Co-CIO at Granit Funds.
